My Little Porcupine

What a charmer - so suave, so slick, so engaging
You walk on water - enjoyable, flirty and encouraging all at once
We let you see the vulnerability
We open our heart somewhat
We think it is OK to open the gate

Our back is turned and we are fine
Until we feel the moisture and realize it is blood
You have unexpectedly attacked with your quills
But why? Even us?

Initially we can't think past the blood and shock
The quills don't match with our image of you
As we remove the sharp spines, we search for reason
There is none

We should have known
No one is good, no one is without flaw
This is who you are
My Little Porcupine - a charmer, with a painful punch

The next time we bleed, there will be no pain
You will not make us suffer
We know who you are
A charmer with a painful punch

We love you, and we are wiser
No one is good, no one is without flaw
This is who you are
