Yesterday's awkward moment award goes to the highly dishevelled man (a.k.a Stinky Sleeper) who was fast asleep spread fully across a 3-seater bench in the subway with his legs, head and one arm hanging off the sides.
The 3-seater bench was at a right-angle to another 2-seater bench on which an older gentleman sat reading his newspaper. Stinky Sleeper had one hand in his pants (ugh!!) and one hand hanging off the bench, and his head could have been in older gentleman's lap if he shifted slightly.
Every time Stinky Sleeper shifted in his slumber, I cringed. He was just so close to touching older gentleman, and a couple of times he actually did. I cringed when his hand grazed older gentleman's right knee/lower thigh and cringed again when his head rubbed against older gentleman's left knee. I was afraid that Stinky would end up in older guy's lap at some point.
Stinky Sleeper - Wake up! Or at least sleep upright. Ewww!!
