She's Here

And it happened...just like that
You searched those eyes deeply
Brown on brown, so intense
And it flowed
You gave yourself to Him, and were thrilled
You were victorious, life was forever changed
Happiness and excitement came through a multiplicity of experiences
Fabulous new schools
Prizes galore, smarter than they said, blowing past their limits
Full of hope, great plans to conquer the world
Smiling, laughing, cartwheeling
Blessed
Revelling in life and His goodness
You keep looking into the brown, holding out for truth
And it flowed
And it hurt
Slave to so many masters
Feelings, him, their words, their standards, lust of the eyes, quick fixes
The brown gets wet, you hold a steady gaze
The light never left
She's been fighting to remind you
Brown connects with brown
Brown smiles and dazzles
She's here

Almost a year has gone and after reading it again many times over, I hope I am getting there. Without the aid of "Cliffs Notes", this song keeps coming back at me as a possible explanation...."Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look FULL (brown on brown/a steady gaze) into His wonderful face and the things of this earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace." Well Prof. I await your grading.
